Memory Lives On
Tree Dedicated to Mr. Vallin
by Shayna V. and Brooke B.
November 14, 2008
On October 30, 2008 the Northern Valley 5th graders planted an Autumn Blaze Pear tree at Vallin Field in Long Island, Kansas. The entire middle school and staff was there along with Emily Vallin. She was touched by our kindness.
Mr. Vallin was the principal at Northern Valley for almost 30 years. He cared about us and watched us grow. Now we can watch the tree grow and remember the fun memories about him. We all loved Mr. Vallin very much!
At the end of the dedication, we threw out bubble gum because that is what Mr. Vallin used to do, and the 8th graders lead three HIP HIP HOORAYS in his memory.
